Tip of the Week
Remember, if you do place a deposit with a window company, ensure they have an insurance-backed garantee. If this is not the case then you will lose your deposit if the company goes into liquidisation or goes bankrupt. The person who calls should have a certificate declaring the company has this insurance. We always recommend No Certificate - No Deposit.
Double Glazing
Double glazing comprises of two sheets of K glass, which is separated by a perimeter spacer bar that contains anhydrous desiccant. The sheets of glass have an external application of edge sealant. The increase in public demand for more security or safety upvc glazing, the improvements to home energy saving and home soundproofing requires wider double glazed units to accommodate the different types and styles of glass & glassware. This has many benefits: the trapped layer of air between the two glass panes creates an insulator that prevents the warmth from escaping from your home. The inner pane of glass does not come into contact with the cold air outside, as a result of this it stays warmer than the outside glass pane.
Modern uPVC windows, doors and conservatories also improve the insulation of sound. These products also help improve draught proofing in your home. With double glazing, the air space is fitted with a moisture absorbing chemical, that eliminates condensation inside the windows and doors. There is a reduction in heat loss - this allows you to cut down on your heating without sacrificing any comfort.
uPVC windows and doors also offer improved securit. Many uPVC window systems and styles, provided by our companies incorporate extra security features including special locks to protect your home from burglars, but nothing is 100% full proof.

Conservatories
This is an excellent, highly insulate material, which benefits from little external maintenance. It is readily available, well tested and is usually the lowest cost option of all the optional materials. It is mainly seen in white but is also available in Mahogany and Oak woodgrain styles. uPVC or PVCu is by far the most popular material for conservatories at present.
A conservatory will make your whole home feel lighter and create more space for the family. Those precious hours of daylight are extended, allowing more light into your property. Winters will not drag on and on like they used to. Conservatories are the most popular product in the home improvement market at the moment. Whether, it be as a sunroom, gardenroom or orangery.
